Hi bloggers!
Most of you probably don't know me, heck, none of you know me! I'm new here at TEC and because of how unacquainted we are with each other let me just take a quick second to tell you a little bit about myself. Without divulging TOO much, let's just say I'm a junior at Syracuse University and have spent the last couple of years dipping my feet into some pretty interesting puddles. Somehow those adventures led me to my most recent adventure, and that's right here at TEC! Now that you've gained this wonderful insight on my life I'm positive that I've got you sitting on the edge of your seat thinking about what fun exciting things I might be dabbling in here. Good news, you're about to find out.
Today started out like any other day. I broke out of REM around 6:15 to a very persistent alarm buzz. I then proceeded to slap the snooze button to grant myself 10 more minutes of uninterrupted shut eye before I had to pull myself together and climb out of bed. Suddenly that's when it happened, 6:25 I opened my eyes to the startling belief that the mundane regularity of my Thursday routine was approaching a screeching halt. What was that shinning through my window, that golden yellow brightness glaring off of my mirror beaming down onto my floor? Ladies and gentlemen the sun had finally fought through those grimy Syracuse clouds that we're all so used to and popped it's head out on this fabulous March morning. Well once I got some Vitamin D in my system there was nothing that could bum me out. You can't tell me walking along to "You Make My Dreams Come True" by Hall and Oates blaring from your iPod doesn't make you want to slide a little pep into that step. It didn't take long before my walk became more of a dance-stroll, finally I arrived at my wonderfully riveting 8AM lecture on human resources. What is the one thing this classroom is missing? You guessed it. Windows. A full hour and 20 passed and it was time to run back to the house and get ready for my 4th day at TEC.
Today I had the opportunity to work on an event called TWITTERCUSE! Some of the most enthusiastic social media gurus will come together for the opportunity to share, explore, and create amazing connections! We're all really psyched for the buzz that its been creating. I spent the greater part of the day seeking out incentives for companies that would generate a desire to sponsor the event. It was challenging to find a way to make the sponsorship relevant to the cause, and to incorporate social media into the advertising they would be spreading. Exploring social media has been very insightful, mostly because I hardly even notice when I'm doing it! I'll admit that things like Facebook and Twitter keep me from my studies quite a bit. Socializing (both on and off the internet) has become a necessity to me, as I'm sure is the same for most people. I can't stay cooped up in my room all day though, I've got to get out and see people, talk about life and how much is happening. That's what is exciting about TwitterCuse. Everyone will be exploring the ins, outs, and benefits of social media all while participating in interesting conversation with other people. This is how ideas happen people, when we communicate and brainstorm.
So it's off to a budget & finance midterm for me .. I hope the evening holds something far more adventurous for all of you :)

Twittercuse
Twittercuse is a social media marketing symposium. Our object is to create a social media marketing forum for business professionals that will; highlight the impact that social media is having on business, show that impact through case studies, offer best practices for navigating and communicating social media as it applies to business, and provide "hands-on" tutorial support.
